KONFOUNDATION e.V. is a Non–Governmental Organization [NGO] and empowerment platform based in Freetown, Sierra Leone, West Africa that seeks to help the Blind and the Disabled. It came about as an answer to the many problems that Blind and Disabled face, especially those who are out in the streets of Sierra Leone with their children begging for money and as a result of this, these children are deprived of their right to Education which is enshrined under Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Right 1948. The founding members think that to help alleviate poverty and reach the status of a successful individual, one must possess the ability to speak out, motivate and inspire others. The greatest asset that an organization will have is a group of people that will be able to explain to the world about how they have been touched by the organization and how they wish to make the world a better place.

“Since I was born and raised in Sierra Leone I have seen poverty in all its cruelty. I’ve always struggled to see people suffering because I don’t think any human being deserves living in such degrading conditions. Since there is no governmental support, poverty is passed down from generation to generation. We want to get people out of this chain of poverty and not only support individuals but change Sierra Leonean societal structures to help those who need it the most.”
“I’ve always been a strong supporter of developmental work. I first encountered poverty during my first trip to Uganda, Africa. It was that moment when I decided to stand up for those in need. I am determined that every human being is equal and deserves the same rights. It is of importance to me to make other peoples’ lives better. This is what we’re pursuing with Konfoundation e.V.”
